SHOW JUDGE PHILLIP SAGE
Phillip Sage is a master printmaker and artist whose work has been sought after by fine art galleries and collectors worldwide for more than four decades. Born in Manchester, New Hampshire, he earned a BA in Economics and Business Administration from St. Anselm’s College and a BFA in Graphic Design from Cooper Union, where he studied under Charles Klabunde.
After serving as a U.S. Coast Guard officer in New Orleans, he began his career as a printmaker and painter in 1971. Inspired by the culture, history, and people of Southern Louisiana, he has made the region his home and primary artistic influence throughout his career.
Mr. Sage creates limited-edition etchings from copper plates using an antique English press, printing each work by hand in the tradition of master intaglio printmakers. His art celebrates the traditions of the South and the history of New Orleans, evoking a sense of nostalgia for residents and visitors alike.
His dedication to both art and preservation earned him a Peoples Health Champion’s Award for his achievements in art conservation, including the restoration of mold-damaged fine art etchings on fragile papers.
An active member of the art community, Mr. Sage supports charitable causes through artwork donations, participates in exhibitions, and is represented by galleries throughout the South. He continues his conservation work and accepts select oil and watercolor commissions.

All entries must be submitted electronically via ShowSubmit.com by midnight on Friday, October 2, 2026. Please note that the entry deadline is three weeks prior to the show. Early registration is encouraged.

Open call to all artists, 18 years and older
ENTRY FEES
● Entry fees may only be paid online by credit card via ShowSubmit.com.
● For LAG members, the entry fee is $15 total for the first entry and $10 total for each additional entry.
● For non-members, the entry fee is $30 total for the first entry and $25 total for each additional entry.
